The Rainbow Jacket (1954)

Trivia

The Rainbow Jacket

Edit
The address of the bank on the cheque dated 5 August 1953, drawn in favour of Mr S.Lilley, is National Provincial Bank, 62 The Mall Ealing W5. A bank is still at that address (as at April 2010), although it is now a branch of the Allied Irish Banks.
When Georgie Crain (Fella Edmonds) goes to Newmarket for the first time, he peeks inside the High Street shop of Boyce & Rogers, the famous saddle makers. The stuffed horse on the left inside is Robert the Devil who was trained at Palace House in Newmarket. He won the St Leger and came second in the Derby in 1880, winning GBP24,000 that season - a huge sum of money at the time. Robert the Devil is still in Newmarket, at the premises of Gibson Saddlers, the firm that took over Boyce & Rogers in the early 1960s.
Melvyn Hayes had a part in the film but it was cut.
Liverpool Street Station stood in for Newmarket Station.
David's first film appearance aged 13.
