        • Trivia
Ray Stahl wrote an article about his adventures during the film's preparation. Himself, director George Breakston and Johnny Carter had about 10 days to spare before the crew arrived from London, and they decided to go on a real "African adventure" (the temporary name of the film). This African adventure was radio amateur in nature as they were all radio hams. The whole trip is described in the April 1954 issue of CQ magazine article which is entitled: "Bedlam on Zanzibar", now out of print but found from time to time on eBay or other auction sites or archive sites. The article is full of wonderful stories about getting transport to Zanzibar from Kenya, finally finding a DC-3 airplane, and even installing an antenna from the top of a mosque to their radios, for better signals.
