In the TV series pilot, Jean Lewis (aka Eve Brent) played Judge Roy Bean's niece, Letty Bean. When Skillcraft Pictures picked up the series for distribution, the role was recast with Jackie Loughery taking the role.
A standing set was built in "Pioneertown" in California to stand in for Langtry Texas.
The episodes were filmed in color, though few stations that ran them that way as few had the capability to broadcast color. Most of the time, black & white prints were used as long as the show was syndicated.
Each episode closes with a lap fade into a sign on the Judge's office wall reading "LAW WEST OF THE PECOS".
