Trivia

The Killer Is Loose

Edit
Baseball player turned actor John Beradino appears as Mac. He would go on to star as Dr. Hardy on General Hospital (1963). Beradino played Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Browns, the Cleveland Indians, and the Pittsburgh Pirates for 11 seasons from 1939 to 1952 (interrupted for WWII service).
Character actor Stanley Adams plays the honor farm guard who is murdered. He had a long and varied career over the years, but his distinctive voice was always recognizable. His most famous role is the intergalactic trader Cyrano Jones on The Trouble with Tribbles (1967).
The archaic-looking bus Lila gets on, which belonged to the Los Angeles MTA, was quite modern for the time. Sunset Park is a neighborhood in Santa Monica.
The calendar in the Flanders's kitchen contains the distinctive logo of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad: a cross inside a circle inside a square with the words "Santa Fe" inside the cross.
The building opposite the bank has an advertisement painted on the wall stating it is in Westwood, the home of the UCLA campus. The old telephone exchange for the region, Crestview, denoted by the CR prefix, is shown.
