In this movie, Mukesh voiced Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor was voiced by Mohd Rafi. However, Mukesh became Kapoor's favorite playback singer and Rafi-Dilip combination created magic.
With this film, the reign of Dilip-Raj-Dev began in the industry. After the enormous success of Andaz, Dilip Kumar gave another hit with Shabnam and Raj Kapoor stormed the box office with Barsaat in the same year. Dev Anand had already become a big star with Baazi, released the previous year.
This is the only movie in which Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor star together.

Raj Kapoor tried to cast Dilip Kumar and himself again in another movie (Sangam) but both had become huge stars by then and it didn't work out. The role written for Dilip Kumar was eventually played by Rajendra Kumar and Sangam went out to become a super duper hit.
