Curtain Razor (1949)

Trivia

Curtain Razor

Edit
While Porky Pig looks over characters and judges their talents, an unnamed wolf wants to be first, But Porky Pig's rules are strict and he tells the wolf to wait for when his time comes. When the unnamed wolf's time occurs, he commits suicide, and Porky Pig gives him first place. A similar suicidal scene is featured in the closing scene of Show Biz Bugs (1957), but this time by Daffy Duck.
Radio, and vaudeville, still ruled the day when this short was released. Modern television, with its similar variety shows, would soon be seen in American homes.
The bird trio spoofs popular entertainers Bing Crosby, Al Jolson (who looks a bit like Daffy Duck, tbh) and Frank Sinatra.
The turtle character who showcases his vocal impersonations (including Jimmy Durante) might have been a nod to the WB man of many voices, Mel Blanc.
Just before his fiery demise, the wolf consumes atomic powder, TNT and gasoline. Ka-Boom!
