The hit film, Stromboli, had its World Premiere in Chicago at the RKO Grand theatre, Clark nr Randolph, on Wednesday, February 15, 1950. The film ran several weeks; and ad reads: "Raging Island . . . Raging Passions! . . . This Is It! . . . The Place: Stromboli, The Star: Bergman under the inspired direction of Rossellini. . . "
