Passed by the British Board of Film Censors on 8 January 1951 with a "U" certificate (as Molly), and previewed at Paramount's Private Theatre on 6 March 1951, for press and trade only. Opened to the public at the Carlton, Haymarket on 4 April 1951 as supporting feature to Charlton Heston's first major film Dark City (1950). Although neither film was granted a general release on the major circuits, the two films were co-billed at many British cinemas with effect from 28 May 1951.

During this period, many highly popular radio and early television series were given a feature film spin-off. By 1948, "The Goldbergs" had made the transition from a long running radio series to television.
