The office building of the Amalgamated Steamship Company does not exist in reality. The frontage seen in the film, attached to the North abutment of Tower Bridge, is in fact a painted set made for the scene.
Although two of its stars died tragically young, almost 70 years later at the beginning of 2020 two of its actors were still alive: Earl Cameron (102) and Leslie Phillips (95). Another, Renée Asherson, died in 2014 at the age of 99.
