Warner Brothers reuse of footage from 'Dodge City' (1939) includes the crowd scenes and the shoot-out scenes seen at the start .Also some of the bar room brawl, including the scene where the stuntman is thrown through the window. A sheriff's notice has the name of Wade Hatton on it, the sheriff played by Errol Flynn in the earlier film. A part of Flynn's body is seen as he pins a sheriff's badge on his belt.
Richard L. Bare replaced Ray Enright as director shortly before filming began.
