Altough he played an old man, Eulalio González, "Piporro", was only 31 years old by the time he acted in this movie.
Due his great and funny performance in this movie,Eulalio González was typecasting for several years as a wise and comical old guy, even tough he was barely in his thirties.
Eulalio González met Pedro Infante two years ago in Monterrey, where González worked in a radio station. He interviewed Infante in his program. After almost two years,González leaved the show and went to Mexico City in search of a big career as a broadcaster, but he couldn't find a job. With no money, he went to a radio station, but he was rejected. Then, he went outside and was lining on the wall trying to figure out what to do, when Infante arrived in his luxurious car. González was surprised when Infante recognized him and went direct to shake his hand. When González told him that he couldn't find a job, Infante immediatily grab his arm and pulled him into the sation. Then, he personally recommended his "friend" for a Job. He even gave some money to Eulalio. Several months later, when the producers were searching for an actor who could play "Piporro", the old cowboy, Infante recommendwd González for the role.
This movie is based on a popular radio series. Eulalio González played "Piporro", an old cowboy who was Martin Corona's partner and mentor. When the producers decided to make the movie, they wanted an old and renowed actor to play the part, since González was only 31 years old. But Infante was so sure that his friend could act as an old man, that he strongly recommended him. Eulalio not only played the part well, but he gained fame and sympathetic from the audiences all over latinamerica. The role had such impact, that Eulalio González was best known as "Piporro" until his death.
This movie is based in a radio series starred by Infante itself.
