Radio quiz shows were hugely popular at the time, as radio was the primary form of entertainment for most people, along with movies. Television was still in its introductory years, so a very modern radio console floor model was what every American dreamed of owning. Porky has just such a cabinet radio. Television would soon move forward with the quiz show fad as well as the furniture TV console set.
