Anthony Quinn, Sandra Dee, Lana Turner, and John Saxon in Portrait in Black (1960)

Trivia

Portrait in Black

Edit
Final film of Anna May Wong.
Lana Turner wears jewelry in this film reportedly worth over $1.1M at the time (nearly $11M in 2022).
This was based on a 1947 Broadway play, but, in the film, all of the characters' names have been changed, even though the screenplay is by the original authors. The play had lasted just 61 performances on Broadway, with Claire Luce and Sidney Blackmer in the parts played on-screen by Lana Turner and Richard Basehart.
Producer Ross Hunter cast Anna May Wong in her first theatrical feature film since 1949. He had planned to cast her in a key role in his upcoming film version of "Flower Drum Song" (1961) but she suffered a fatal heart attack before principle photography began. She was only 56 years old.
This marked the third and final on-screen teaming of Sandra Dee and John Saxon. Over 30 years later they would co-star in the play "Love Letters".
