The Chipmunks' names were taken from the names of three executives at Liberty Records, where David Seville and the Chipmunks made most of their early recordings. Alvin was named for label president Alvin Bennett, Simon for label vice-president/record producer Si Waronker, and Theodore for recording engineer Ted Keep. One of the first cartoon shows, along with "The Flintstones," to become a success in prime time.
The voice of Clyde Crascup was a parody of character actor Richard Haydn.
In the Clyde Crashcup segments, Crashcup's assistant Leonardo never speaks out loud. His only speech is whispering into Clyde's ear.
During the opening sequence, the action and music freezes twice when Clyde Crashcup and Leonardo pass through, and once both resume, Alvin is always looking towards them angrily.
Many segments of the episodes remain lost currently since the show had went into obscurity over the years and has yet to have any full DVD releases or releases for streaming.
