This is the first cartoon where David H. DePatie has produced many cartoons before moving on to DePatie-Freleng Enterprises with Friz Freleng to work on Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies and The Pink Panther shorts after Warner Bros. Cartoons shut down in 1963.

The rum cake is sold at 'Antione's Bakerie' - a play on the well-known Antoine's Bakery, which opened in 1840. The spelling of the name of the Bakerie (with the 'i' and 'o' reversed) is correct as shown here - it is not a typo.
