Forever My Love (1962)

FAQ

Forever My Love

The Midwest Premiere of the Paramount release, Forever My Love, took place in Chicago on Friday, March 30, 1962, at the Esquire theatre (Oak near Michigan). An ad reads: "the tumultuous story of Franz-Joseph, Emperor of Austria-Hungary, and Elizabeth, his Queen who walked in beauty--and tragedy. Theirs is a raptuous and exciting story--filmed against the time and moment when an Empire triumphed, through the heart of a woman. . . . " The film starred Romy Schneider and Karl Boehm, and was in Technicolor.

Those ads for "Forever My Love," playing up Carl Boehm, are laughable. That picture was made in Austria and released there five years ago under the title "Sissi." Somebody's trying to cash in on Boehm's popularity by palming this off as a new film . . . .
