Muscle Beach Party (1964)

Trivia

Muscle Beach Party

Edit
This is the debut of music prodigy "Little" Stevie Wonder, who receives an "introducing" credit.
This film was released in theaters only 4 days before cast member Peter Lorre died. In the end credits, there was an announcement that Lorre was soon to appear in the upcoming film Bikini Beach (1964), but he was never able to fulfill that commitment. Boris Karloff was a last-minute replacement for Lorre in the film instead.
During the fight scene there is a shot of one of the muscle girls hitting a surfer in the stomach twice, accompanied by a bass drum BOOM BOOM sound. That shot is used 11-1/2 times throughout the sequence - 10 times uninterrupted, the 11th is stopped by Peter Lorre's shout (for 10-1/2), and then one more complete shot after he leaves.
Don Rickles plays Jack Fanny, a character whose name is a spoof of Vic Tanny, the owner of a chain of health clubs in the 1950s and 1960s who relied on a lot of TV ads for promotion.
Film debut of Peter Lupus, who is playing Flex Martian under the name "Rock Stevens". This would lead to an early career in Europe where he would play the lead role in various sword and sandal/mythological muscleman movies that were then in vogue.
