The only conversation Catherine Spaak had with co-star Bette Davis on the set was one word "hello".
Dino's mother's villa was featured previously in I dolci inganni (1960) also starring Catherine Spaak. In that film, Spaak's character loses her virginity to an older man in this villa.
Catherine Spaak revealed in a 2015 TV interview she was wearing a bikini underneath and not totally naked as most thought in the famous "lire notes" scene. The lire notes were literally glued to her body so they stayed in place during the shoot.
Catherine Spaak would portray a mogul's mistress in the film version of Hotel. Bette played the establishment's owner in the pilot for the TV series, Hotel.
