Eddie Albert, Eva Gabor, and Arnold the Piggy in Green Acres (1965)

FAQ

Green Acres

FAQ

That's not a question. But the reason for much of the censoring of Mr. Haney (correct spelling) in reruns of early seasons is because of his politically incorrect speech and some of the items he tried to sell. The character frequently used terms such as "wetback" and made other derogatory references, which eventually led to the network ordering a cleanup of his act in later seasons, after the younger more hip demographic complained.

All shows were filmed on a set with a single camera, in several takes, and without a live audience. There were a few scenes with characters driving in a car on a country road. All of these that were closeups were filmed on a set with a matte background, while a few long shots were actually filmed on a rural road. The latter includes a frequently re-used scene of Eb riding his scooter. There were no other scenes filmed on location.

That sign was well-known in Times Square for many years, and it was in the shows opening credits since it began in 1965, long before any ban on tobacco advertising.

Your question is factually incorrect. The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour (the correct title) was not a replacement for Green Acres which was cancelled in 1971 in the rural purge. Cambell debuted earlier in 1969 as a replacement for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and was cancelled in 1972 in the rural purge.
