F Troop (1965)

Trivia

F Troop

Edit
"Old Charlie", the town drunk, would usually be thrown through the saloon doors (or window), bounce off a support post, fall face forward over the hitching rail, spin around and land on his face or back. Many viewers thought the actor was a young stuntman in "old man" make-up. Harvey Parry was 65 at the time, and had been a stuntman for almost 45 years.
Melody Patterson was only 16 when she auditioned, not really expecting to get cast. When she found out that she got the part, she and her mother didn't reveal her real age until just before shooting started. She didn't turn 18 until after the show ended.
Chief Wild Eagle and the Hekawes often referred to Capt. Wilton Parmenter as the "Great White Pigeon". At other times they referred to him as "Scourge of West" or "Mr. Nice Guy".
Wild Eagle belonged to the Hekawe (pronounced "Heck-cow-wee") tribe. One episode explains that the name came about by when two Indians fell off a cliff and one asked "Where the heck are we?" The original name of the tribe, the Fugawe (as in, "Where the Fugawe?"), was rejected by network censors.
The names of Capt. Wilton Parmenter's family came from mythology. His first cousin was a Major named Achilles (Greek), his second cousin was a Lieutenant Colonel named Hercules (Romanization of the Greek Herakles), his uncle was a Colonel named Jupiter (Roman), and his father was a General named Thor (Scandinavian).
