Fox-Terror (1957)

Trivia

Fox-Terror

Edit
The fox, Foghorn Leghorn, and Barnyard Dawg all impersonate actor Sheldon Leonard with his racetrack-tout routine performed on The Jack Benny Program (1950). Leonard would often trick Benny into betting on a low-stakes horse in one race or another.
Foghorn Leghorn sings about fishing to the tune of "Gwine to Run All Night (De Camptown Races)" (1850) by Stephen Foster (1826-1864). This song was often used as the character's theme song.
At one point, the fox disguises himself as a quiz show host and has Foghorn Leghorn and the Barnyard Dawg compete in "The 64 Million Dollar Question". This is a pun of The $64, 000 Question (1955), a popular TV game show at the time of the short's release. It was canceled in 1958, when it was discovered that several seemingly random outcomes of the show were prearranged by the production staff and the corporate sponsor Charles Revson (1906 - 1975).
Two music cues from the cartoon were featured on the album "The Carl Stalling Project Volume 2: More Music From Warner Bros. Cartoons 1939-1957". The tracks were "Variation on Grandfather's Clock" and "Variation on Lucky Day".
One of the barnyard hens is inexplicably green in color.
