Peter Sellers, Virginia McKenna, Bernard Miles, Margaret Rutherford, and Bill Travers in Big Time Operators (1957)

Trivia

Big Time Operators

Edit
The production insurers declined to cover Dame Margaret Rutherford, so all of her scenes were squeezed into seven days.
The exterior of the Bijou Cinema was a façade built for this movie between two railway bridges on Christchurch Avenue in Kilburn, next to Kilburn Underground station.
Liz Fraser was screen tested for the role of Marlene, but ended up instead as an extra in the cinema scenes.
The scenes of Comin' Thro' the Rye (1923) with Dame Margaret Rutherford at the piano show Alma Taylor and Shayle Gardner. The movie was directed by Cecil M. Hepworth and still exists.
Stringer Davis who briefly plays Mr Emmett was married to Margaret Rutherford.

Cameo

Alma Taylor: the silent screen star can be seen sitting behind Jean and Matt at The Grand. A few minutes later at the Bijou, she is shown in archival footage in the silent movie Comin' Thro' the Rye (1923) with Mrs. Fazackalee at the piano.
Frank Launder: the Executive Producer of this film can be seen sitting in the audience at The Grand.
