Isabelle Corey in Aphrodite, Goddess of Love (1958)

Trivia

Aphrodite, Goddess of Love

Edit
Italian censorship visa # 27605 delivered on 26-8-1958.
Do not confuse Goddess of Love (1957) (released in the UK as Aphrodite, Goddess of Love) with Aphrodite, Goddess of Love (1958) (released in the US as Aphrodite, Goddess of Love). The first film was originally La Venere di Cheronea (1957) and starred Belinda Lee. The second film was originally Afrodite, dea dell'amore (1958) and starred Isabelle Corey. Two different films, but sharing identical release titles in UK and US.
Submitted to the British Board of Film Censors by Archway on 15 March 1960 when it was passed with a "U" certificate under the title Slave Women of Corinth. Dubbed into English, Archway showed it at a few venues, then relegated it to the Sunday only circuit. Channel 4 eventually acquired the film and restored it to its original title Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, but presented a print with Italian dialogue and English subtitles. Its television premiere (the fifth and final day of Channel 4's Sword and Sandal week) was on 5 January 1992. Repeated once on 7 August 1996, then never seen again.
