When young Clayton is singing to the girl, the actor who plays young Clayton is Gary Lewis, Jerry Lewis' real-life son.
Carla's deceased husband, Carlos, the bullfighter, doesn't appear in the film. When a picture of the character appears towards the end of the film in a newspaper clipping, it's Jack Benny in a matador suit.
Jerry' Lewis had a strong devotion to family values. Since he was the father of three at the time, he made a rule on the set that working hours would be limited strictly to the hours between 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. That meant the cast & crew would be able to go home for dinner with their families each night.
Connie Stevens admitted having a crush on Jerry Lewis during filming.
