Wild and Woolly Hare (1959)

FAQ

Wild and Woolly Hare

    Looney Tunes.

Many television airings of this short, such as on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, ABC, and the now-defunct WB! station, would delete the entire scene where a Native American man named Injun Joe asks a cowboy to hold his beer while he goes outside to engage in a gun fight with Yosemite Sam, only to get killed offscreen by the latter, and the cowboy drinks Injun Joe's beer and tells the audience that he "gets more free beer this way" and laughs.

On the syndicated "Merrie Melodies" show (which left in the Injun Joe fight with Yosemite Sam scene), the WB and Nickelodeon, the scene where Bugs Bunny accidentally shoots Sam in the face while trying to shoot a can was replaced with an alternate shooting scene (which was taken from the 1978 TV Special "How Bugs Bunny Won the West" and "The Looney, Looney, Looney Bugs Bunny Movie"), where instead of shooting Sam in the face, he shoots champagne corks in the can's punctured areas.

In addition, Nickelodeon and WB showings shortened the scene where Bugs and Sam shoot each other around the bar to remove the several times that Sam gets shot in the face.
