Carola is a princess in a land far far away who had to run away after a revolution in her country. She goes to Spain and disguises herself to save her life, because the revolution wants her to die. But Carola doesn't like to be imprisoned and secretly goes out at night to find out how Spaniards live. She doesn't expect to fall in love with a man she meets in a restaurant, who works in a cabaret where she decides to start working as a singer because her money is running out.
