In the background of their first robbery is the former Oñate Theater at 700 Dalies Avenue in Belen, New Mexico. As of 2017 the building is still there and has been converted into a restaurant. The First National Bank of Belen building used for the robbery has been demolished and is now a parking lot for another bank and a small park.
The shopping mall in the chase scene is the Winrock Town Center in Albuquerque, although the area now looks drastically different 50 years later.
