In the US the movie is a public domain film and was released several times. The original runtime of over 90 minutes probably was too long for the film distributors at that time; as a result, it was trimmed down to 83:38 minutes. Interestingly enough, most of the cuts edit plot scenes out - most of the sex and "gore" still made it into the shorter US version.
