They must work for the ladies' department or contracted elsewhere. Probably just thought no one would notice.
The actor that played Mr Grainger died and those that followed didnt have the same audience draw so were replaced. Mike Berry seemed to last the longest who played Mr Spooner. Personally i suspect that because Mr Grainger worked for the store for so long, audiences could relate more to him than those that joined (as in those that came after him) who didnt have the same depth. But thats just my personal opinion
