Ardell Sheridan was Richard S. Castellano's real-life girlfriend at the time. They later married. Margaret E. Castellano was Castellano's real-life daughter.
Richard S. Castellano and Bruno Kirby play father and son. Castellano played Peter Clemenza in The Godfather (1972), while Kirby played the younger Clemenza in The Godfather Part II (1974).
Ardell Sheridan, his real life girlfriend (later wife) who plays his wife on the show, also played Mrs. Clemenza in The Godfather, reminding him not to forget the cannoli...
This blue collar based show that dealt with racial issues resulted from the popularity of All In The Family; Rob Reiner, co-star of that show, helped create and write this series.
Both vehicles titled "The Super" starred actors known for mafia movies: Richard S. Castellano from The Godfather in this sitcom, and years later, Joe Pesci from Goodfellas in the comedy film (no connection to this series) The Super.
