A folkloric actress is put before a teacher to educate her in good manners in order to interpret Isabel La Catolica.

Typical Spanish comedy at the time, including top-drawer stars, entertainment, spectacular musical numbers, hilarious set pieces, big fun, and of course there's beautiful songs and luxurious dances. Eurico (José Bodalo) -supported by his production assistant (Manolo Gómez Bur)- intends to make a film about the life of Queen Elizabeth the Catholic. That's why he deals with an Italian producer (Tomás Blanco) to finance the movie. He wants the beautiful Lola Vargas (Conchita Nuñez) to star in it. But he does not have a refined enough education. He decides to appoint a teacher (José Campos) to improve her manners.

Spanish film based on the homonymous literary work by the Madrid playwright Alfonso Paso, which in turn is based on the play of George Bernard Shaw that was also adapted by George Cukor in ¨My fair Lady¨ and Lewis Gilbert in ¨Educating Rita¨. The movie dealing with a story of love and learning, is a heady mixture of Spanish comedy, breathtaking dances and songs and slight entertainment. The story of the millionaire producer unable to woo the star of his films was brought to the big screen in 1967 by Ramón Torrado. The role played by Conchita Nuñez stands out, a Spanish actress who was the voice of Pedro in the mythical children's cartoon series 'Heidi' or Concetta of 'Marco'. Other protagonists are José Bodalo in a politically incorrect role as an abusive, bossy, vociferous, and contemptuous producer; José Campos as the snobbish teacher and the always likable and agreeable Manolo Gómez Burr. As usual in the films of the sixties, a gallery of illustrious supporting actors appear here and there providing their small but significant performances, of which I would highlight the following: Tomás Blanco, Laly Soldevila, José Truchado, Xan das Bolas, Julia Caba Alba, Ángel Álvarez, among others.

The motion picture was average but professionally directed by Ramón Torrado. The artisan Ramón Torrado was born in 1905, Galicia, Spain. He was a director and writer, known for directing some vehicles for well-known Folkloric Cinema stars such as Peret in ¨Amor a Todo gas¨ (1969), Manolo Escobar in ¨Un Beso en Puerto¨ (1966) and Paquito Rico in ¨Malvaloca¨ ( 1954). The previous ones being successes sufficient, and Torrado continued making other musical films of a similar style. And he even made four Paella Westerns: ¨Los Cuatreros¨ de 1965, ¨La Carga de la Policía Montada¨ de 1964, ¨Relevo a Pistolero¨ de 1964 y ¨Bienvenido, Padre Murray¨ de 1963. Torrado is known for his work with the undisputed star of Spanish films of the time, Manolo Escobar, whom he directed in ¨Mi Cancion es para Ti¨, ¨Un Beso en el Puerto¨ and ¨El Padre Manolo¨. Rating Educando a una idiota(1969) : 5/10. Acceptable and passable but the film is only aimed at fans of the Spanish comedy of the sixties.
