Eli Wallach (Ben Harris) and Anne Jackson (Gloria Fiske) were husband and wife in real-life. This is their first film collaboration. They formed Elan Productions to produce this film with financing from Columbia Pictures.
The movie is based on a one-act, two-character, off-Broadway play that originated as "The Tiger".
Film debut of Swoosie Kurtz. As Ben is scoping potential victims, Kurtz appears in a single shot, wearing a butterscotch-colored turtleneck.
