The Banana Splits Adventure Hour (1968)

Trivia

The Banana Splits Adventure Hour

Edit
One of the composers employed to write the songs "performed" by the Banana Splits was future R&B legend Barry White.
Opening and closing sequences were filmed at Six Flags Over Texas and Kings Island in Cincinnati OH amusement parks.
The show originally was going to be called "The Banana Bunch". However, there was a children's book already released with that title and the author wouldn't give permission to Hanna-Barbera to use it. Also, the name change had further repercussions as Kellogg's, who was the show's sponsor, was going to sell cereal with the Banana Bunch name and when the name changed happened Kellogg's was forced to abandon their plans even though they had already printed 1.25 million boxes with the cereal's name.
The five cartoon segments shown on a rotating basis during the series were Arabian Knights (1968), The Three Musketeers (1968), The Hillbilly Bears (1965), The Banana Splits Adventure Hour (1968) and The Adventures of Gulliver (1968). The two live action segments shown on a rotating basis during the series were Danger Island (which starred Jan-Michael Vincent when he was very young) and The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1968).
The usual order of role call by the announcer at the start of each episode was 'Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snorky', although the order was swapped around occasionally.
