Sixteen episodes were produced as segments of The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour in 1976, eight episodes were produced as segments of Scooby's Laff-A Lympics (1977) in 1977, and sixteen episodes were produced in 1978, with nine of them running by themselves under the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! name and the final seven as segments of Scooby's All-Stars.
Scooby Doo's cousins are introduced in this series as Scooby Dum and Scooby Dee, implying that Scooby is their family name, and the second name is the given name. Beginning with the next series, Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo (1979), it was officially retconned that Doo is the family name of Scooby Doo and his nephew Scrappy Doo. Subsequent incarnations endorsed the revised version, by introducing a raft of new Doo family members, including Dada-Doo, Mumsy-Doo, Horton-Doo, Howdy-Doo, Skippy-Doo, etc.
