Alain Delon in Mr. Klein (1976)

Trivia

Mr. Klein

Edit
This was originally going ahead as a Costa Gavras project in 1974.
The movie is an evocation of and takes place before and the time of the August 1942 Vel D'Hiv roundup of Parisian Jews by French police. As it was shot in colder temps, the clothing is not right with overcoats. Vichy police head René Bousquet's presence can be implied in a reunion around a big table in a scene that last less than a minute.
When Mr Klein is entering the room at the castle where a small orchestra is playing, the first musician playing the cello on the right is Maurice Baquet, a multi-talented actor who was a great cello player.
Isabelle Sadoyan, who plays the woman at the medical exam, waited a month before accepting her role, which required her to appear completely naked at the age of 47. "I hesitated because of my body," she revealed in 1985. "The shooting went very well, very simply, thanks to the way Losey protected me. I did not want to go to the private screenings, I was ashamed. I said to myself: I am going to make myself beautiful, put on my pretty silk dress... Finally, I saw the film in the theater. The first time, I left. I was sitting next to a spectator, and when she saw me, naked, she cried out: 'How horrible!' It took me months to get over it. "
This film has a 100% rating based on 12 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
