Singer, Sebastian Bach, of Skid Row fame, appeared as a child in the classroom scenes. He grew up in the area.
Donald Pleasence was originally cast in the film when it was due to be filmed under its original title, Summer Rain. Pleasence was packed and ready to leave for Canada with his family when he received a telegram that said, "Summer Rain delayed until June 1976. Trust Pleasence still available".
