Two 35mm prints are gathering dust in the archives of the Spanish Film Library. On one of the copies, color degradation has already begun. And no one wants to make the effort and investment to digitize and preserve this little gem from 1978. It is hard to understand why lovers and enthusiasts of Spanish cinema do not want to make an effort to preserve Spain's cinematographic cultural heritage.
In the book, Oscar and Toni's return to Barcelona is an adventure of its own, with both guys playing characters, avoiding the ticket inspector and becoming invisible more than once. However in the film this is all solved in only one scene of the train getting into a tunnel.
In the UK, the film was shown in three parts on BBC Television as a serial drama. A narrator's voice was added, avoiding the need for subtitles or voice dubbing. The series was originally transmitted in June 1981, but repeated several times.
