Jeremy Brett (Maxim de Winter) and Anna Massey (Mrs. Danvers) were once married, and had been divorced for 17 years by the time they made this film together.
Joanna David's daughter, Emilia Fox, also played the role of Mrs. de Winter in the 1997 version: Rebecca (1997)
Anna Massey and Joanna David went on to star in four other productions together: Anna Karenina (1985), an episode of Midsomer Murders, He Knew He Was Right (2004), and Belonging (2004). The Midsomer episode, Written in Blood (1998), finds Massey once again obsessed with a dead loved-one and tormenting Joanna David with memories.
Vivian Pickles, seen here as Beatrice, would co-star in Jamaica Inn (1983), also based on a Daphne Du Maurier novel.
