What more can I say? I can't believe people are actually posting critiques of this film like it's Oscar caliber material, or something.
With that out of the way, the cast is filled with enough naked women to fill everyones wildest fantasies, plus the plot centers around the antics of high school and cheerleaders. (Tapping into the 'I wish I were young again' dreams we all share from time-to-time.) It also includes several "Why didn't this kind of thing ever happen to me?" scenes, including 'Showering en Masse, The Wild Side of Washing a Car, and How to Have Fun in a Sporting Goods Store.'
Speaking of the car washing scene, look for the EXTREMELY comedic line from the brunette, when the three of them are alone. (Making a request to the guy.) Truly the porno quote of the century, and enough to keep you laughing throughout the rest of the movie.
So, enjoy the eye candy, laugh at the sheer comedy of the whole thing, and pretend like you're a part of it all, even if it's just for an hour and twenty minutes).

Obviously, Minestra's screenplay is not one of the great works of film writing, but let's take a moment to appreciate it for its virtues. The film has better pacing than almost any other film of the time in this genre, and the key scenes are well-established and strangely engrossing.
True, there are flaws in the film. A few of the actors and actresses have a kind of gross/scary look that seems to somehow be the result of the decade itself, and the score is maddeningly repetitive. Still, the good elements at least measure up to the bad ones.
I was a little disappointed (as I imagine many were) that Bambi Woods wasn't given more to work with. Even though she is given top billing and the titular character, she doesn't have any real dramatic moments until the end of the film.
I have to say that the best actress of the picture was Debbie Lewis in her small, but pivotal role as Girl in Shower.
Though I wouldn't call Debbie Does Dallas a masterpiece, I would recommend it to any fan of the genre.

What does one say about a film of such breathtaking beauty and atonishing artistry. Masterfully directed by Jim Clark in 1978, this film stands on the pantheon of cinema genius. How Deer Hunter won Oscars over this remains one of the huge miscalculations on behalf the motion picture academy. Solid skillful directing, is backed up 100% by acting that borders godlike. Wonderful cinematography, magical camera technique, and a highly unique style of story telling as the titillating plot unfolds with unending suspense and timing. Cinema was changed forever by this movie, and in Cannes it got a standing ovation of over 15 minutes. Perfection. I even saw boobs.
The title of this movie, with its allusion to the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, titillated both the media and the public, with the result that millions who have never seen it think of it as some kind of great classic porno flick. A lot of adult movie fans who have seen it, however, will tell you it's nothing special at all.
One knock against its alleged immortality is that it doesn't boast a cast of first-rate female performers. The star, Bambi Woods, is attractive, but not memorable, and she did little other work in the field besides the sequel. Arcadia Lake is cute, but none of the rest of the women are "A-list." Merle Michaels, though, is my pick as the standout performer and actress.
The script might get an occasional chuckle out of you but there are tons of adult films out there more worth one's while.

This one hails from the "golden age" of adult films. It actually has a plot and contrary to what has been said by some, the girls are still kinda cute including the late Bambi Woods. The music for the film is one of the things that make it memorable. Listen to it and see if it doesn't get you worked up.
The candle shop scene is one of the best and I'm still in love with Roberta. Her other scene in the locker room was tremendous and I only wish she and Bambi had managed to be in the same scene. The library BJ scene is one of the best of its kind....that girl can...well, you know. I would suggest this film for couples who want some plot with their action.
