The movie is supposed to be taking place in the Bermuda Triangle, however the helicopter in the early scenes has the national registration beginning with EC which indicates it is from Spain.
The "Bermuda Triangle" water rides in Movie Park/Germany and Seaworld/Australia are based on this movie.
Director Tonino Ricci and star Andrés García also made a fantasy film about The Bermuda Triangle the previous year, Cave of the Sharks.
