The Magician of Lublin (1979)

Trivia

The Magician of Lublin

Edit
During the early 1970s, Menahem Golan had planned this film to be a vehicle for Laurence Harvey.
The film stars three Oscar (Academy Award) winners - Alan Arkin, Louise Fletcher and Shelley Winters - and one Oscar (Academy Award) nominee - Valerie Perrine.
One of three theatrical feature film adaptations of a story or novel by Isaac Bashevis Singer made within about a decade. The pictures are [in order]: 'The Magician of Lublin' (1979), 'Yentl' (1983), and 'Enemies, A Love Story' (1989).
Of the movie's theme song 'The Magician' sung by singer Kate Bush, according to the 'Kate Bush Encyclopedia' website, ''the song was never released on record and in the film, the song can barely be heard over dialogue.''
The film's source novel by Isaac Bashevis Singer was first published in book form in English in 1960.
