Jim Bray was originally hired as a stunt double for Linda Blair's then-uncast leading man. The producers cast Bray as the male lead because they couldn't find an actor they liked. His stunt double, Jerry Bregman, skated in most of the skate park scenes, and jumped over the limousine with Blair's stunt double.

Terry Barkley's house and pool also appear in The Cars' music video "Magic" (1984), Blind Date (1987), and The Colbys (1985).
