Martin Landau in Savage (1973)

Trivia

Savage

Edit
This television movie was first broadcast on March 31, 1973. The previous evening, March 30, CBS aired the final episode of the series that made Martin Landau and Barbara Bain a famous acting couple: Mission: Impossible (1966). (Landau and Bain left the series in 1969 after three seasons.)
Third and final time Spielberg directed veteran character actor Barry Sullivan (Judge Daniel Stern). The first was in the "Eyes" segment of Pilot (1969) and the second in LA 2017 (1971).
Carl Gottlieb has a small role as a floorman. Gottlieb, a friend of director Steven Spielberg, later wrote the screenplay for Jaws (1975).
Editor Edward M. Abroms took over as director for one day of filming, as Steven Spielberg was extremely ill and could not get out of bed.
This is the second time in 1973 that actor Danny Goldman played a television commercial director. A month earlier Goldman played the role in Bedknobs and Drumsticks (1973).
