This was the final half-hour Western series to air on American television.
The characters of Dirty Sally and Cyrus Pike first appeared in Gunsmoke, a two-part Pike: Part 1 (1971). Sally returned the following year in One for the Road (1972). It would be two more years before the two were awarded their own series.
Jeanette Nolan would be nominated for an Emmy in the category Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series, but would lose to Michael Learned for The Waltons.
