Sally James, John Gorman, and Chris Tarrant in Tiswas (1974)

Trivia

Tiswas

Edit
Star guests included world famous celebrities like Muhammad Ali and Jackie Chan.
Comedy performer and impressionist 'Fogwell Flax' joined the final series as a replacement for Lenny Henry, but quickly fell out of love with Tiswas, calling the move the worst mistake of his career.
Many editions of this series are lost.
The first series was meant to run for 11 shows, but strike action by technicians cut it to just 9 shows. ATV management were still impressed, and commissioned a second series later in the year.
A five-year-old child regularly appeared on the show in 1980 and 1981, singing "Bright Eyes" while dressed up as a rabbit. The child was Matthew Butler, selected by producer Chris Tarrant from an audition of various "talented children" acts simply for the comedy value in his incompetent style of singing. After a family dispute, Matthew Butler changed his surname to Lewis, and is known to make the odd media appearance relating to his unusual claim to fame.
