Jim Nabors, Ruth Buzzi, Jarrod Johnson, and Alice Playten in The Lost Saucer (1975)

Trivia

The Lost Saucer

Edit
In 1975, ABC presented an afternoon-long Thanksgiving day "Funshine Festival" of Saturday morning shows, which was hosted by Fi and Fum.
Jim Nabors provided the voice of Luther the Dragon for this show's producers, Sid & Marty Krofft, at their 1968 World's Fair show "Kaleidoscope." Luther eventually morphed into the titular character of H.R. Pufnstuf (1969), voiced by Lennie Weinrib, who mimicked Nabors.
Producers Sid & Marty Krofft were being spread too thin, and have expressed disappointment in the show. In addition to this series, they were also producing Far Out Space Nuts (1975), Land of the Lost (1974), Donny and Marie (1975), plus overseeing attractions for Six Flags and developing their short-lived indoor theme park, "The World of Sid & Marty Krofft."
Ruth Buzzi remarked that Jim Nabors had sustained a back injury that was exacerbated by the heavy costume, making him physically uncomfortable while shooting the show.
The spaceship was built by Herman F. Zimmerman, who went on to have a long involvement with the "Star Trek" franchise. The ship took up the bulk of a soundstage, and its construction ate up most of the show's budget.
