This film features more nudity and graphic gore than most of Paul Naschy's other El Hombre Lobo films.
One of the characters in the film is named Larry Talbot. Lawrence (Larry) Talbot was the name of the role portrayed by Lon Chaney Jr. in The Wolf Man (1941).
The film was banned in the UK in 1983 after its inclusion on the DPP's (Department of Public Prosecutions) list of 72 video nasties.
The film was released theatrically in the United States in 1977 by Independent-International Pictures under the title Night
of the Howling Beast. Its subsequent VHS release came from Super Video. The film has been released on DVD in its native
Spain by Tripictures. It was released on VHS alternately under the titles Night of the Howling Beast, Hall of the Mountain
King and The Werewolf and the Yeti (the last one in the 1980s).
