The movie was another military comedy starring actor Elliott Gould who had recently starred in Robert Altman's box-office smash 'M*A*S*H' (1970). The movie's main poster even had the following tagline: "The most hilarious military farce since M*A*S*H".
The movie was theatrically released in the U.K. as 'C*A*S*H' (1975). This was to connect and cash in with the title of Gould's earlier box-office smash picture 'M*A*S*H' (1970). Interestingly, the title 'C*A*S*H' even rhymed with 'M*A*S*H'. Moreover, Gould had also recently appeared in an espionage spoof which also had an acronym title as well. This picture was called 'S*P*Y*S' (1974).
The movie's closing credits state: "We gratefully acknowledge the cooperation of the State of Utah and particularly the citizens of Tooele."
The US military's nick-name for the GZS-2 gas was "Happy Dreams" whilst the media's nick-name of the GZS-2 gas was "The Red Death".
