- Susan Swayze: Swayze.
- Alex Marsh: Sorry. Um, about 5-6, brunette, brown eyes.
- Susan Swayze: They're grey.
- Alex Marsh: [looks] Grey eyes.
- [clears throat]
- Alex Marsh: Where are you from, Susan?
- Susan Swayze: Beverly Hills.
- Alex Marsh: [smiles] Beverly Hills. OK. Um, major?
- Susan Swayze: Psychology.
- Alex Marsh: Psych. OK. About 19?
- Susan Swayze: About.
- Alex Marsh: [exhales] Um, boyfriend?
- Susan Swayze: [pauses] I don't believe in them. And what has that got to do with the game?
- Alex Marsh: Um...
- [clears throat]
- Alex Marsh: motivation. See, I just- I was wondering if people were in this game, you know, to meet new people, or, uh, if it's because of homicidal tendencies, you know.
- Susan Swayze: Motivation? It's something to do.
- Alex Marsh: Oh.
- Susan Swayze: Everyone likes to play games, don't they? Get away from the books, keep it fun, keep it light. You can get lost in this. Scream and cry and know that when it's all over you can turn around and go home. It's safe. It's a game. Got that?
- Alex Marsh: [mesmerized] Yeah. yeah.
- Susan Swayze: Marsh?
- Alex Marsh: Yeah?

- Alex Marsh: Whistle?

- [Susan goes back into her room leaving Alex dumbfounded in the hall]
- Cleaning Woman: Excuse me, son. Son?
- [Cleaning Woman lets out a shrill whistle. Susan promptly opens her door and pulls Alex inside]
- Campus Security Officer: Alex, a little advice: uh, you're too soft on women. They like a man to take charge, be dominant.
- Alex Marsh: That's easy for you to say; you've got a gun.
