Marla Heasley was the show's first spokesmodel. She won the pilot episode with John Schneider as the host. She went on to win two more shows with Ed McMahon as the host replacing John Schneider.
Before Ed McMahon was selected as host, Peter Marshall, Alex Trebek, Bob Eubanks, Phil Donahue, Chuck Woolery, Bert Convy, John Davidson, Tom Kennedy, Regis Philbin, Gene Rayburn, John Madden, Pat Summerall, and Jim Perry were all considered to host.
